Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

TL;DR

  • We collect only what we need to deliver order-ready push notifications and operate the Service.
  • Merchants: Square connection details, dashboard sessions, and order activity tied to notifications.
  • Customers: push device tokens and order identifiers when you register for a specific order, plus optional verified email or phone if you want automatic alerts on future orders.
  • We do not sell personal information or use customer data for unrelated advertising.
  • Data is shared with service providers that help us run Buzzer — including Square, Apple/Google for push delivery, and cloud infrastructure — not for their independent marketing.
  • You can turn off push notifications in your device settings, remove devices in the app where available, or email info@buzzing.now to request deletion. The full policy below applies.

1. Who we are

Buzzer is operated by Genoworks ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website, merchant dashboard, APIs, and mobile applications (the "Service").

Contact: info@buzzing.now

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Buzzer.

Merchants

  • Square account identifiers, business name, and OAuth tokens needed to receive orders and fulfillment updates from Square.
  • Dashboard settings, notification history, and operational metrics derived from order activity.
  • Session cookies used to keep you signed in to the merchant dashboard.

Customers

  • Mobile push device tokens and platform (iOS or Android) needed to deliver notifications.
  • Square merchant and order identifiers for orders you register for directly, or orders matched to your verified email.
  • Email address, if you verify it to receive automatic alerts when you order with that email at a participating merchant.
  • Phone number, if you choose to provide one when SMS features are available.

Automatically collected

  • Server and application logs, including IP address, request timestamps, and error diagnostics.
  • Basic usage information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide order-ready push notifications and related features;
  • authenticate merchants and maintain dashboard sessions;
  • register devices for a specific order or for automatic alerts when you order with a verified email;
  • send verification emails and service-related communications;
  • monitor performance, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use customer data for unrelated advertising.

4. Legal bases (EEA and UK)

Where applicable, we process personal data on the basis of: (a) performance of a contract with you or your merchant; (b) legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; and (c) compliance with legal obligations. Where required, we rely on consent—for example, for optional contact details or marketing you explicitly opt into.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run Buzzer:

  • Square — to connect merchant accounts and receive order and fulfillment events.
  • Apple and Google — to deliver push notifications through APNs and FCM.
  • Infrastructure providers — such as cloud hosting, databases, email delivery, and caching services that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect rights, users, or the Service.

If Genoworks is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction subject to this Policy.

6. Retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Rough retention periods by data type:

  • Order records and notification history — approximately 30 days after the order is tracked.
  • Customer device registrations — unverified registrations expire within 90 days; verified registrations remain active until you remove them or they are unused for approximately 90 days.
  • Merchant account data — retained while the Square connection is active and for a reasonable period after disconnection to support legal, accounting, or operational needs.
  • Order history on your device — the Buzzer app stores order history locally for up to 1 month; this data is on your device and is not sent to our servers.
  • Logs and diagnostics — typically retained for a short operational period of days to weeks.

You may remove a registered device or verified contact through the mobile app, or contact us to request deletion of associated account data.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, access controls, and signed session tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

We may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time. To exercise privacy rights, email info@buzzing.now. We may need to verify your request.

10. Children

Buzzer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or other reasonable means where required by law.
