TL;DR
- Buzzer sends push notifications when a Square order is marked ready. We do not process payments or run your POS.
- Merchants connect via Square OAuth and remain responsible for their account, staff workflows, and how customers are offered alerts.
- Customers choose to register for notifications per order or, where offered, ongoing merchant alerts.

1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Buzzer, including the website at buzzing.now, merchant dashboard, APIs, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Genoworks ("we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Buzzer provides order-ready push notifications for businesses that use Square. Merchants connect a Square account so Buzzer can receive order and fulfillment events. Customers may register a mobile device to receive notifications when their order is marked ready.
Buzzer is a notification layer. We do not process payments, prepare food, or operate your point of sale. Order status and fulfillment remain under your control through Square.
Buzzer is currently in beta. Features may change, and the Service may be interrupted or modified as we improve it. While Buzzer remains in beta, all features are available at no charge.
3. Merchant accounts
To use Buzzer as a merchant, you must authorize access to your Square account through Square OAuth. You represent that you have authority to connect the Square business you authorize and that your use complies with Square's terms and applicable law.
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of accounts and devices used to access the dashboard;
- accurate merchant settings and staff use of Square fulfillment workflows;
- informing customers how order-ready notifications are offered at your location; and
- disconnecting Buzzer if you stop using the Service or close your Square account.
4. Customer use
Customers may install the Buzzer mobile app or follow a merchant-provided watch link or QR code to register for notifications related to a specific order or, where offered, ongoing alerts from a merchant.
Push delivery depends on the customer's device, operating system, network, and notification settings. We do not guarantee that every notification will be delivered or received in real time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
- attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by excessive automated requests;
- reverse engineer or misuse APIs except as expressly permitted; or
- use the Service to send spam or unrelated marketing messages through our notification channels.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.
6. Third-party services
Buzzer integrates with third-party services including Square, Apple Push Notification service (APNs), Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), and cloud infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their separate terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, API changes, or actions taken by those providers.
7. Fees
While Buzzer is in beta, all features are free. We do not charge merchants or customers during the beta period.
After beta, we may introduce paid plans. Pricing and billing terms will be announced before any charges apply, and you will have the opportunity to review them before subscribing. Unless stated otherwise at that time, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including software, branding, and content we provide, is owned by Genoworks or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or service marks except as needed to use the Service as intended.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GENOWORKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Genoworks from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your connected Square account, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Changes and termination
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice, such as by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access with or without notice where permitted by law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Genoworks is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
